What Is Market Forex?

What is Market Forex?  Just like stocks and bonds, foreign currencies are traded all over the world.  Currency markets plentiful, just as in the case as stocks, however there is one dominant trading forum where the vast majorities of currency trading takes place: Market Forex.  While the New York Stock Exchange dominates the United States stock market indices, the Market Forex dominates the world in terms of currency trading.  In dollar value, there is no larger currency market nor stock market in the world that even comes close.  Market Forex is open for business 24 hours a day from Monday until Friday.  This rigorous schedule, especially if you are day currency trading, has a distinct purpose: to maintain liquidity and trading throughout the many time zones around the world.  With a 24 hour schedule anyone in any country can access the market at the same time as the rest of the world leading to more people trading at any given time.  In the highly volatile world of currency trading, this means the Forex currency market gives liquidity.  With more traders at the table, one can buy and sell currencies for a better market price and prohibits false price hikes or falls due to lack of trader options.

Currency Trading: Market Forex

While once a place where banks, international governments, and multi-national corporations met to exchange currency they did not want for domestic currency they needed, the market Forex has changed into something wholly new.  It is estimated that now more than 80-90% of currency trading is effected by currency trading speculators.  These traders do not in most cases even take possession of a given currency.  They most often buy and sell currency options and other trading tools to make profits from fluctuations in currency prices.  This type of trading, while not the original intent of market Forex, does add liquidity to the market with more buyers and sellers at the ready to make trades.  In this way even speculative currency trading has its place in the Forex currency market, and is now an important part of it.
